02:50 and Incontinent (Cont’d 3)

I really don't feel like writing but then I think there must be others who struggle with incontinence or running back and forth to the toilet every two minutes.

It is the carbonated drinks making me incontinent during the night. Yesterday I drank a lot of caffeine free Pepsi Max. Still I had my one coffee about three and a half hours before bed. (The lasr drink of the night). I still wet the bed.

I've decided today I'm gonna try drinking no more than 500ml an hour, which is a lot but I normally drink ten to fifteen litres a day so it's stilll a significant change in liquid intake.

I don't think I'll have the coffee as my last drink as I'm not that in to the taste, I'm not sure it's working and I want to give up caffeine completely. Still I'm gonna stop my fluids at night but I'll decrease the gap to two hours two hours before bed rather than three or more.

It's really depressing as a grown woman to have this sort of problem, it's embarrassing and not something I really want to share but then I think there are so many of us in this position so I just want for people like me to know they're not alone in this struggle.

I don't think people appreciate the toll incontinence takes on your mental health. I feel disgusting and I wouldn't dream of sleeping next to someone. It upsets me Everytime and the worst is knowing it's all my fault because I drink so much but like I say I get really bad dry mouth and throat (side affects of the antipsychotic) so I'm constantly hydrating.

I try my best to shop for adult diapers with my Mum so my fellow shoppers think they're needed for her.

I just don't understand why a serious bout of psychosis could make me go from dry nights to wet nights but I think it's trauma. Wetting the bed is only ever a good thing if your partner likes water sports 🙄.

Realistically I don't think anyone would want to sleep beside me and I don't think I'd let anybody.

I take ownership but it doesn't make it any less disheartening or embarrassing. So today one drink an hour and stop drinking two hours before.

As always, I'll update you with my progress.
